Berry Banana Smoothie Recipe

Today my focus is on a wonderful “fresh and healthy” Berry Banana Smoothie recipe or in other words a refreshing and delicious easy homemade smoothie with bananas, strawberries and red fruits! A little treat of greasiness and above all the best way of the ideal way to stock up on fruits and vitamins without even realizing it, but enjoying it!  Of course, you must have a blender in good shape for blending! Though, if you don’t have one you can use an immersion hand blender, which should also do the job.

To start the day with a good dose of energy, or as a comforting food after hours of tiresome activities, nothing’s better than a yummy vitamin rich and deliciously tart smoothie. The ease and speed of preparation of this recipe, especially if you use frozen fruits, will perhaps make you as addicted as I do! The Very Berry Banana Smoothie,  has many variations, but here is a classic recipe; I suggest you make my gourmet version and it’s perfect when you need to indulge on healthy fruits: slow and fast carbohydrates, proteins, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals are present in it to bring a lot of vitality to our body. And yet again it’s so good!

Jen from Peas and Crayons hosts a fun event every Wednesday- What I Ate Wednesday! I had pretty much stopped taking pictures of my daily eats (it happens when I start eating the same thing every day) but I finally remembered to bust out the camera and participate today It’s also Jen’s birthday today, so go wish her a happy birthday!

Breakfast was amazing- oat bran with raspberry preserves and white chocolate peanut butter!

I had lunch all packed and ready to bring to school, but like the forgetful person I am, I left it on the counter! I didn’t end up eating until 3:30… ugh.

Pumpkin yogurt and cereal (obviously) and leftover lentil meatloaf with hummus and spinach. Do you like my lunch box? TJ Maxx, sucka!

Snack was an apple with peanut butter.

I wasn’t in the mood for a huge dinner because I ate lunch so late, but I ended up making a huge smoothie and served it with carrots, clementines and sugar snap peas. It was my first time trying the sugar snap peas and I’m not a fan of them raw. Maybe in a stir-fry?

Dinner had to involve a ton of Vitamin C because I am getting sick… again. Fun fact-my blog will be 4 months old tomorrow. I have been sick 5 times since I have started it. Something doesn’t add up!

I think I caught it from my mom, who was informed she has bronchitis today. Good timing for me to get sick- it’s not like I have a half marathon or anything to run on Sunday…

What are the health benefits of banana blueberry smoothie?

If the banana blueberry smoothie has a pretty color when mixed and looks appetizing, it is equally good for health and loaded with various and many beneficial vitamins. Let’s take a short overview of the health benefits of our smoothie.

The Blueberry

Blueberry is the champion in terms of vitamins C content . As such, its incredibly rich in antioxidants composition makes it a significant ally in the fight against certain cancers.

So, the consumption of blueberries in the form of juice would limit the proliferation of certain cancer cells, in particular those of the breast, prostate, intestine or stomach. As such, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries are all foods to combat this type of disease.

In addition, the consumption of blueberries would help to limit the risks of cardiovascular disease (because they are rich in flavonoids), and would protect the body from the onset of diabetes.

The almighty Banana

Banana unfortunately does not have a very good reputation when it comes to talking about any “diet”. Yet, its antioxidant profile is very powerful, and using just bone one for your breakfast ensures the body to hold on without nibbling or craving other food until lunch!

Green smoothie, work your magic!
