Note: Sometimes we use cl (centiliters) instead of ml (milliliters) in cocktail preparation and 1 cl = 10 ml, so keep that in mind when you see the cl measure somewhere.

Also, a dash equals about 10 drops if you are using milliliter-dropper and about 1/5 of a teaspoon.

Irish Whiskey Cocktails:

1. Whiskey in the jar

Ingredients:

  • 120 ml whiskey Bushmills
  • 3 to 4 ripe peaches (or concentrated peach juice)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoons of powdered sugar (or 4 tablespoons of peach syrup)
  • mint leaves
  • ice cube

Preparation :

1 / Wash the peaches and then wipe them thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.

2 / peel the peaches. Remove their core.

3 / put the cut peaches, the powdered sugar, the whiskey, the unsweetened condensed milk, the ice cubes and some mint leaves in a blender. Mix for 1 to 2 minutes.

4 / cool in the refrigerator before pouring into large glasses or jars.

5 / Add a few more ice cubes just before serving.

2. The Ginger Ale Whiskey Cocktail

Cocktail made with Teeling Whiskey and Ginger Ale, a sure value in Ireland.

Ingredients :

  • 45 ml of Teeling Whiskey Small Batch
  • 200 ml of Ginger Ale Franklin & Sons
  • 15 ml lemon juice

For decoration: one lemon

Preparation :

1/ using a blender cocktail, pour 45 ml of Teeling whiskey.

2 / then add 15 ml of lemon juice and 200 ml of Franklin & Sons Ginger Ale.

3 / Mix with a cocktail mixer.

4 / for decoration, add a few lemon slices.

4. The Dubliner

This cocktail is adapted from the original recipe of Gary & Mardee Regan (cocktail experts) created in 1999 in New York.

Ingredients :

  • 60 ml Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 15 ml Grand Marnier
  • 15 ml red Vermouth
  • 2 drops of orange bitters (or Angostura)

12. Old Fashioned

The “Old Fashioned” cocktail was invented at the Pendennis Club in Louisville, Kentucky in 1884. It was developed by bartender James E. Pepper, a member of the Club and one of the owners of the bourbon brand “Pepper”. He loved this cocktail so much that, throughout his travels, he asked the various bartenders to make it for him. The recipe went around the world and quickly became a must. During prohibition (1920 to 1933), in order to escape the controls, some bartenders crushed the sugar and the bitter with a twist of lemon, and added a little sparkling water and two cherries to the maraschino to cover the taste of the alcohol and the bitter.

  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters
  • 1 sugar cube
