Have you ever wondered  how to use an omelette maker to make your life a bit easier? Well, if you do, check our guide and an easy recipe below.

You probably love eating omelettes(who doesn’t really), but making them is another matter. If you’ve ever watched a chef make an omelette on TV or even at a breakfast buffet, you might think to yourself that making an omelette from scratch is easy.

Then you get home, and you realize just how much effort and skill goes into making an omelette. It’s no wonder that making an omelette is one of the hallmarks of a good cook!

If you want to be able to make the perfect omelette every time without having to learn the technique, you have to start using an omelette maker.

There are two kinds of omelette makers, but they generally have the same function. The first is the pan version, which has a hinge that allows you to close the pan and flip the omelette inside easily. The second is a tabletop version, and it looks similar to a waffle maker where you pour in the omelette mixture into the mold, close the lid, and let the machine do all the work.

The best omelette pans are made from non-stick material, but if you want to avoid a mess altogether, use non-stick spray or grease the surface before using the pan.

Why Do I Need an Omelette Maker?

Simply put, if you love making omelettes, but you don’t have time to learn the technical skill needed, an omelette maker will be your best friend. Using an omelette maker allows you to cook both sides of the omelette evenly, so you won’t accidentally end up with a burnt side and a raw side!

If you have a tabletop maker with more than one mold, you can cook your omelette in one mold and use the other to cook something else like breakfast sausages or hash browns! You can get a quick and delicious breakfast, and you only need to clean up one pan. Talk about a win-win situation.

A Guide to Using an Omelette Maker

Here’s how to use your omelette maker in five steps:

  1. Preheat your omelette maker. If you’re using a tabletop version, turn it on. If you have the pan version, place it on medium-low heat.
  1. Prepare your omelette mix. Crack two eggs per portion into a bowl and whisk until well-combined. Chop up your fillings, such as cheese, vegetables, meat, and herbs, and add them into your omelette mix. Stir until thoroughly combined.

  1. Spray the surface of the omelette maker with non-stick spray or grease with oil or butter.
  2. Ladle the omelette mix into the pan. Fill up to about halfway. Do not overfill, as this can cause your omelette mix to leak out of the maker.
  1. Close the lid and allow the omelette to cook for 2-3 minutes. If using a pan, flip to the other side and allow to cook for another 1 minute.
  1. Open the omelette maker, remove the finished omelette, and serve warm. You can add garnishes such as green onion, shredded cheese, or parsley on top.
